PLC Sydney is a non-selective school for girls from Reception to Year 12. The school currently enrols 1300 students, including 65 boarders. The college is a school of the Presbyterian Church. Since 1888, PLC Sydney has been preparing girls to fulfil their role as women in the community. Just as this role has now changed, so has the work of the College.
Today's students are offered a comprehensive preparation in all fields: academic studies, spiritual development, the creative arts, sports and recreation. The degree of excellence in education, a hallmark of the College, has continued from those early days in 1888 to the present. Throughout the world, the name PLC is associated with excellence in its schooling and quality of its graduates.

In a unique setting in Croydon, an inner western suburb of Sydney, the grand buildings of the College stand within 5 hectares of historic grounds and fields. PLC is located within 15 minutes of the city's central business district, Sydney University, the University of Technology and the Australian Catholic University. The Homebush Olympic site is 10 minutes away to the west of the College.

The College is well served by public transport, being situated adjacent to Croydon Railway Station. Day students come to PLC from all regions of the greater metropolitan area.
Accommodation is available for 65 boarders, who are drawn from New South Wales country regions, overseas countries, and some from Sydney itself.
