Supported formatting features

SEEK maintains a style guide for the features that you can include in the ad details. This style guide is to ensure that ads are easy to read for jobseekers and their experience on SEEK remains positive.

The style guide allows you to use these formatting features:

• bold
• italic
• left
• right
• centred
• justified alignment
• bulleted lists
• numbered lists.

Font size, font colour and font face formatting are not supported.

Only the supported formats can be included in the ad details regardless of whether you use HMTL or the standard editor tool. Non-compliant HTML formatting is automatically stripped out.

Pasting text from MS Word

The standard editor supports formatting from MS Word that is pasted in, so long as it meets the supported formats above. Text formatted with a ‘Style’ in MS Word cannot be guaranteed to copy and paste successfully.

Ad templates

Formatting your text has no impact on the ad template that you are using regardless of whether it is a standard SEEK template or a customised company template.

Compatible browsers

The job ad formatting tool is supported for Windows operating systems and MS Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. If you are using other operating systems and browsers you will be presented with an option to format the text using HTML codes. View compatible HTML formatting tags.
