Competition is fierce, but one of the most effective ways to jam your foot in the door is to try for one of the graduate trainee programs. Some are organised via the industry bodies, while others are offered by individual agencies. Following are some of the options available.
AFA Graduate Trainee Program
The AFA runs a graduate trainee program in NSW and Victoria. While there is no guarantee, trainees with the right aptitude and attitude are often taken up by their employers.
ADMA Agency Graduate Program
ADMA's Agency Graduate Program places recent graduates in DM agencies in Sydney and Melbourne for 12 months. Most graduates hold marketing, communications, business or arts degrees.
MFA Trainee Program
MFA trainees work in advertising media during a 13-week program. Successful candidates are offered hands-on working experience, educational tours of the various media suppliers, a two-day training session and more.
